step
1. Try to find one word domain names with a .com extension. In present day, these are one in a million but if you can get your hands on one, don't let go of it for anything less then four digits. In many instances, even the most off the wall dictionary word in a .com extension will net you in the high hundreds, if not a few thousand!
Step
2. Look for memorable and short domains. For example, a domain name like UsedCars.com will net
you several thousand dollars if sold on the market today. Although it is not a one-word
domain name, its a memorable key word phrase in a popular market so in many cases it
surpasses many one word .com domains you can think of.
Step
3. If a one word domain name in a .net, .org, or .us extension comes up, snatch it immediately! Although premium domains with the .com extension are the most valuable, you'll never know what other extension will become the new .com! If you pick one up now, expect to pay some money for it. However, hold onto that domain as an investment and you could make one hundred times what you pay for it in the near future.
Step
4. Search for random four letter domains in the .com extension. The value of these premium domains has consistently gone up for many years, and is valuable because four random letters can be used as an acronym for many different businesses.
